This interdisciplinary graduate program will train you to use large data sets in an effort to help make cities more equitable, resilient, accessible, and responsive.
In this program you will build in-depth knowledge and technical skills through core courses that help you develop a balanced understanding of data science, informatics, statistics, probability, urban management, and communication. You will also learn to analyze and utilize large-scale data to address real-world issues impacting our cities through hands-on research and capstone project opportunities throughout New York City and beyond. To help you align your electives with your career goals, the program offers seven overlapping Knowledge Tracks: Artificial Intelligence, Complex Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Policy Analytics, Smart Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Urban Management.
Plus, thanks to a flexible curriculum, you’ll have an opportunity to specialize in an area of informatics that aligns with your career goals or focus on a specific urban domain.
