Develop Innovative Technologies to Advance Human Health

The NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers two degree options for advanced study in biotechnology—a Master of Science in Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship. In these programs, you will be immersed in the cutting-edge biotech field, pioneering improvements in areas such as crop sustainability, targeted disease therapies, and pollution prevention.

Biotechnology, Master of Science

In this program, you will develop extensive knowledge of the continuously evolving biotechnology industry. Your coursework will provide you with exposure to topics including industrial application of enzymes, bio-polymer synthesis, and modern drug design, with a wide variety of electives that offer a high degree of specialization.

You’ll have the option to hone your research and analytical skills in guided study courses, two of which comprise the research equivalent of a master’s thesis. Demand is strong for our graduates among employers in pharmaceutical companies, medical centers, biotech startups, and research laboratories.

Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship, Master of Science

Innovate at the intersection of science and business in the rapidly advancing field of biotechnology. You will build the skills necessary to innovate groundbreaking products and successfully launch startups.

Select from a wide range of elective courses to specialize your expertise, and take advantage of courses at other schools of NYU such as the NYU Stern School of Business to further hone your abilities. Our students secure internships and employment opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and medical centers, as well as founding cutting-edge ventures of their own.
