The NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers two degree options for advanced study in computer science and engineering—a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity. In these programs, you’ll gain hands-on experience in world-class research centers and pioneer critical innovations that will help shape our interconnected world.

Computer Science, Master of Science (offered on-campus)

As a student in this program, you will expand your technological expertise and collaborate with brilliant innovators at Tandon as well as across NYU, including the School of Medicine and Stern School of Business. Become immersed in leading-edge research in state-of-the-art facilities such as the NYC MediaLab and the Visualizations, Imaging, and Data Analysis Research Center.

Our diverse range of electives allows you to develop a specialization in your area of professional interest, including cybersecurity, data science, information visualization, game engineering, distributed systems, and web search technology. Upon graduation, you will be well prepared for employment as an applications programmer, database manager, systems administrator, or IT analyst.

Cybersecurity, Master of Science (offered online or on-campus)

Become a cybersecurity professional of tomorrow by learning how to integrate theory and research into solutions to real-world problems. Develop specialized skills in a program taught by internationally renowned experts and recognized by the National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity.

In addition to core security courses, you will have a wide array of electives to choose from, offering both breadth and depth and enabling you to tailor your studies to your interests and professional objectives. Upon completion of this program, our students are prepared for positions such as security analyst, developer of security products, security application programmer, and vulnerability analyst.
